FAQ
What should I do if I am unable to provide all the requested documents related to my home institution due to current circumstances?
In cases where, due to current circumstances, Ukrainian home institutions had to stop their usual clinical, academic or research activities, applicants are able to claim exemption from providing the home supervisor’s EAACI membership number, the home institution release form, the confirmation from the home supervisor regarding the acceptance of the terms or a letter of recommendation from the home supervisor. The proof of affiliation to a Ukrainian academic or clinical institution valid as of February 2022 will be sufficient. This also applies to applicants who had to flee from Ukraine to other countries since February 2022.
I won the Ukraine Clinical/Research fellowship last year. Can I apply again?
The award of an EAACI Fellowship is a recognition of the excellence of a young scientists or clinician. Thus, previously awarded applicants cannot be considered for the same award again in subsequent years. If an applicant has previously received an EAACI Fellowship in a specific category (Clinical or Research), they are not eligible to receive that same category of award again in subsequent years.
I applied last year but was not selected. Can I apply again?
Yes, you can apply again. However, please note that you may only submit one application at a time.
I have applied for the Fellowship Programme. How and when will I know if I am accepted?
Thank you for your interest in the program. We understand how important this opportunity is for you, and we appreciate your patience. Official notifications of acceptance or rejection will be sent out each spring (approximately late March to April) via email, depending on the project timelines. Specific deadlines will be communicated as well. Rest assured, we will contact every applicant to inform them of the results of the review process. If you have not heard from us by early May, please feel free to reach out at education@eaaci.org.
Why is the host institution required to sign the Payment Order form when the funds are transferred to my account?
According to EAACI guidelines, the host institution’s signature on the Payment Order form serves as official confirmation of the information provided by the fellowship winner, including the Host Supervisor’s name, contact details, Host Institution Name and Address, and fellowship program dates. This requirement ensures that all details are accurate. Please note that this part is not related to the payment itself.
I won the fellowship but need to postpone it due to unforeseen circumstances. What should I do?
We understand that unexpected situations can arise; however, kindly note that by submitting your application, you stated that you are committed to participating in the program as planned. If you need to postpone your fellowship due to unforeseen circumstances or valid reasons, please inform us at education@eaaci.org as soon as possible. We will review postponement requests on a case-by-case basis. The final decision requires approval by the EAACI VP of Science. You will be notified via email about the outcome of your request.
